Page + Moris will assist the California State Library plan post-construction occupancy of the Library-Courts Building in downtown Sacramento, following completion of a two-year historic restoration of the facility. Work will include space planning and furniture selection for public spaces and collection relocation to fit significantly reconfigured book stacks that occupy seven floors.

Competitive bids were received for the 4 furniture packages of SFSU Library furniture. The total delivered furniture costs exceeded $3M and bids were comfortably within budget.

Page + Moris has been selected to provide programming services for a joint school-public library to serve the residents of Emeryville, California. The library will be located in the Emeryville Center for Community Life, designed by Nexus Partners, a consortium of three architectural firms.

Page + Moris and EHDD started collections move planning and interior design work for relocation of the Adolph Sutro Special Collections from the Winston Drive facility in SF, to the 5th and 6th floors of the J. Paul Leonard Library on the SFSU campus. Design and documentation will be complete in the middle of October, and relocation is planned for March, 2012.

Remodel of the Bay Farm Island Branch of the Alameda Library was completed and celebrated on March 8th. See Interior Design Projects for photographs of both Bay Farm Island and its sister branch, historic West End.

The design team of EHDD and Page + Moris was selected by SFSU to provide layout, furniture selection and specification interior design services for the 250,000 square foot J. Paul Leonard Library. Seismic retrofit and expansion construction is underway, and the interiors move-in is scheduled for early 2012.

Page + Moris completed a Master Plan for carpet replacement and furniture standards for the Graduate Theological Union Library, designed by Louis Kahn in the early 1970's. The master plan provides for phased replacement over a period of 5 years.

Remodel of the West End Branch of the Alameda Library was completed and the space reopened on October 26th. Page + Moris provided interior design services on the Noll & Tam architecture team. Sister branch, Bay Farm Island is currently under construction and is scheduled to reopen on March 8, 2011.

The dining room at the Pacific School of Religions in Berkeley, CA was remodeled. Work included flooring materials and new furniture selected and specified by Page + Moris. Next on the boards: Selection and specification of furniture for PSR classrooms.

The second floor remodel of the Teen Library at Cupertino Public was celebrated on September 11. The vitality and energy of the age group is evident in the exciting design and strong colors which have made it a popular destination for teens.

The new Library and City Council Chambers Building opened in Tulare, CA. LEED gold is pending for the 31,400 SF building which is slated to become a cultural and civic center for the community.

Page + Moris was selected to provide interior design services for a new Senior Community Center, and a new Teen Community Center for the Pleasant Hill Recreation and Park District. The architect is Stephen Harriman Associates in Walnut Creek, CA.

Page + Moris was asked to provide design services to remodel the 3rd floor Reference Area of the Campus Library at 530 Parnassus Avenue at UCSF. The new "third space" is called the Campus Exchange and will serve as a hub for students and medical professionals to study, interact, and check e-mails between classes. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2011.
